Duties and responsibilities:
  • Receive and process orders of information resources (print, non-print and electronic resources) on Nevada (SAPNet).
  • Determine value for money prices using different price detection means.
  • Create orders using required bibliographic information, on the SIERRA library ordering system
  • Place orders with appropriate vendors and make the necessary follow-ups.
  • Receive orders initiate the payment on SIERRA and for processing by Library Finance.

Inherent requirements:

  • Degree in Library and Information Studies or equivalent qualifications; or (Any Degree plus Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies).
  • LIASA membership (Attach 2018 membership certificate).

Required competencies:

  • Knowledge of any online ordering system.
  • Knowledge of any acquisitions module of a library management system (with preference to SIERRA).
  • Organisational skills.
  • Quality control and risk detection skills.
  • Innovative and systematic problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Service oriented with excellent interpersonal relations.
  • Knowledge of any online ordering system would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of any acquisitions module of a library management system (with preference to SIERRA) would be advantage.

As soon as possible.
